It seems to me that synchronous session are important when trying to build us a group on line. It is because I join the webheads 12h00 GMT online meeting in tappedin as often as I can,  that I managed to be there for the first live discussion about this evomlit course. Before going there, I knew this page existed because I'd seen it once, but no way could…See More

Gently does it ...

Well - I finally got "the book" and so I'm ready to start week 1

Even though people are thinking about week 3, I'm going to idle at the introduction a moment, because it begins with the passage about a Scottish girl giving in an exam essay in txt spk.

I have kept an article from "The Guardian" February 03 (no precise reference ... just an approximation scrawled on the photocopy). because the article in the Guardian itself was entirely written in textspeak.. The funny thing is that I… Continue

Thanks for adding me Elizabeth. It is true that the Yahoo group can be full. Try to select the dayly digest as they suggested.
See you online. Let's enjoy it!

Hi Elizabeth Anne, the good side of your schedules is that it sometimes lasts the same time Evo sessions last, 6 weeks. And in 6 weeks we can do a lot, especially if we interact through the internet so I agree with you on the web tools benefit. I'm always concerned about getting to know my students so I can really address their needs.
Glad to meet you "virtually"

Hi Elizabeth Thanks for your offer of friendship - it'll be much more pleasant and productive going through the course together than alone!

Hi Elizabeth

Thanks for your encouraging comment! I'm afraid I'm a bit behind in this group (I'm taking two more courses, Images4educationand Digital Materials Prep). But now I'm fully here and will start participating.

Hi Elizabeth, it's John.

As a fellow newbie (yet old at the same time...), I've grown far too accustomed to feeling the hair on my head whip itself up in a frenzy because of the breakneck pace of all the net possibilities, requisite skills, and general awareness that never lets up but is always essential ... and to think I still remember programming in BASIC when it first came out as the "next big thing"!

Hmmmmm ... where DID I leave my floppy disc anyways?!

Have fun, Elizabeth, and like me, I hope you can sponge up as much useful information and tips as possible in the short time we have.

Hmmmmm ... time ... where did that go, too??

Hey, Elizabeth,
It's almost 4:30 am local time and I'm up since I'm Skyping with my daughters back in Canada - saw your message and thought I'd drop one back. It's funny you mentioned the conference as I was just at the Istek Head Office today talking with the Coordinator of that Conference. Istek is my present employer and, in some as yet undetermined capacity, I know I'll be more deeply involved there (perhaps even leading a workshop or two...). The line-up of plenary speakers is remarkable (I've seen most on prior occasions) and the planned activities/social events will be worthwhile, too. So, I agree, it would be better if the conference were held in a less interesting locale and, having lived here for awhile, I would be the first to wanna play "hooky" ... perhaps if you plan on coming, I could suggest the names of some AMAZING places to be a bad student? Thanks forthe post - sure made me smile!
Have a great day, or night, or wahtever it may be for you right now, too!
